Fatu Feu’u
Known to many as the Godfather of Polynesian art in New Zealand.
Fatu is a multi-media artist, primarily a painter, he explores a range of other mediums including bronze, wood and stone sculpture. He gains inspiration from Polynesian art forms such as siapo (bark cloth), and tatau (tattooing). Being a Samoan myself he is just an inspiration to my work.fatu1

Steve Ma Ching.Ma Ching3Ma Ching 2A tattoo artist who specialises in Polynesian designs. Im really into polynesian art/tattoos. Just having art on your body that represents cultural experiences, life and family means alot. Representing where you’re from. Steve Ma Ching’s polynesian body art is powerful. The shapes and forms of his art is beautiful.

Above is an image I found in a Magazine from the library, I have enlarged the image by 130% every page and it has come out like this. I love how the last few pages show random abstract lines. I also gave it a kinda frustrated blurry fighting effect to it using the camera, Makes the image more effective.

Conflict3

Above the same series but I have colour copied it in red aswell. Using red to express anger,as the sketch is called Conflict. These images show that there are struggles between someone?. It could be an internal conflict (within onself) or that it is an external (between two).

Conflict 2I was just experimenting what it would look like if I were to mix the red and white images together.

Colour Collage

More work produced in the photocopying workshop. Here I built this image by photocopying about 5 different images from magazines and using coloured paper to colour copy each image. So each image would have 4 different coloured copies. With the coloured copies it was time to be RANDOM! and this was the outcome of one of my collages.

Neo-Gothic St Patrick's Cathedral

Researching different cathedrals etc for interior class. Hoping to get ideas for my design. My theme for this class is gothic architecture. I like the look of this, mainly because the detail they use, from the windows to the beams. It creates interest, rather than just a boring flat roof etc. Very effective how the poles in the middle give an illusion of a wall…
